Anurag Mittal is an associate professor in the Computer Science and Engineering department at IIT Madras heading the Computer Vision Lab. Prior to this, from 2002 – 2005, he was a Research Scientist at the Real-Time Vision and Modelling Department at Siemens Corporate Research, Princeton NJ.
He completed his PhD in Computer Science from the University of Maryland, College Park in Dec 2002. Before that, he completed MS from Cornell University in 2000 and B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi in 1997.
His research interests are in all areas of Computer Vision. His thesis was on surveillance under severe occlusions using multiple cameras.
Vinay Kumar Mittal is a faculty in the Computer Science Department in IIIT Hyderabad.
He completed BE (Electronics and Communication Engineering) from IIT Roorkee in 1988 (84-88), MTech (Computer Science and Engineering) from IIT Madras in 1998 (96-98) and MBA (Finance and Marketing) from SMU in 2005 (03-05).
He worked at Nuclear Science Center, Delhi (1988-90), as an officer of Indian Air Force (1990-2003), as Asst Professor at Bharati Vidhyapeeth College of Engineering, Delhi (2003-04) and as Test/ Program Manager in Windows Group at Microsoft Research and Development India Pvt Ltd, Hyderabad (2005-09). He is also continuing (Ph.D.) from IIIT Hyderabad.
